Learning Breakthrough Program

Balance therapy hinges on the relationship between the vestibular system, the cerebelum and several other key functional areas in the brain and how, by refining the relationship between neuropathways, learning and cognitive function can be improved. It is a program of balance, sensory processing and sensory integration activities designed to help better organize the way the brain processes information.

Project First Step

An experience-based program which concentrates on enhancing the fundamental physical movement skills necessary for optimum academic learning to take place. Aims - to further kids progress in sports, active, and learning readiness. Research indicates that internalizing movement skills at a young age is imperative for future overall success. This project works towards getting kids involved with movement activities that can help them succeed in the future, and further them in society.

A program of physical movements that enhance learning and performance in ALL areas. Brain Gym includes 26 easy and enjoyable targeted activities that integrate body and mind to bring about rapid and often dramatic improvements in: concentration, memory, reading, writing, organizing, listening, physical coordination, and more.

This program successfully stimulates concept imagery. Individuals become able to image gestalts which include color, and even movement. This improves their language comprehension, reasoning for critical thinking, and expressive language skills.  It is common for individuals to gain years in language comprehension in four weeks of intensive instruction.

Neuro-Reading

This approach to reading is fast paced and takes advantage of the brain's plasticity and its ability to compensate for difficulties by seeking novel avenues to learning. It focuses on brain based, research supported, principles.

Bal-A-Vis-X

A series exercises, of varied complexity, most of which are deeply rooted in rhythm. These exercises require full-body coordination and focused attention. The program utilizes multiple principles and activities from Educational Kinesiology. It demands cooperation, promotes self-challenge, and fosters peer teaching. It is school friendly and just plain fun.

Boehm Test of Basic Concepts

The Boehm Test of Basic Concepts-Revised (BTBCR) was developed to measure the understanding of basic positional concepts of young children (kindergarten - 2nd grade). Students must demonstrate knowledge and familiarity with 50 concepts that are important to be successful in school, such as words used to describe qualities of people or objects, spatial relationships, time, and quantity.

Kwar Protocol

With a well functioning vestibular system, the linear and rotary movement receptors of this

special sense provide the essential information for integrating movement of the head and body with all other types of sensory input (vision, hearing, touch, taste, and smell) so that we can make efficient, adaptive responses to environmental demands in time and space.

Reading Prerequisite Checklist

The aspiring reader must have solid skills in: receptive and expressive language; motor skills; ocular motor skills; spatial and temporal awareness; visual memory and visualization; phonemic awareness; and a sound knowledge of text. When these prerequisite skills are in place, the student will become successful in the reading process.  This checklist was developed by a group of teachers and provides a quick guide to determining circumstances that might lead to early learning failure.
